If you are experiencing problems connecting to WiFi networks with your SailProof there are few simple steps to solve them.
Distance to Router : Although most boats are rather small, obstructions to the WiFi signal might still be a real problem (especially on steel boats). So make sure your tablet is close and has an unobstructed access to the Router.
Number of devices connected : Nowadays nearly everything has WiFi and it might be that your Router simply can’t handle the volume of devices connected, resulting in problems. Deactivate any unnecessary devices or reset your WiFi router.
Router : Make sure your router works properly, a simple restart or reset might solve connectivity issues.
Password : Although very obvious, sometimes it can happen that we are simply using the wrong pass code, normally there is a direct warning about it, but sometimes it just results in long processing and no connection, so double check that you are using the correct password and network.
Auto-Connect : This feature is found in WiFi settings and will allow you to choose certain networks that will auto connect when in range. This feature is especially useful when only one network is being used and is needed on a more permanent basis (AIS/NMEA) as it will reconnect automatically if disconnected due to distance to router or else. However, if more then one networks are on auto connect there might be a conflict and they might interchange between them according to better signal. This can be a problem if for example a certain WiFi is preferred but the tablet switches to another automatically. The fix however is easy and simply requires the user to disable auto connect from the non desired network.
