Firstly, never forget that, in the case of a high-brightness tablet, the screen is by far the biggest consumer of energy. This consumption will exceed 80% of total usage when the screen is set to 100% brightness. So the first piece of advice is always to be careful to set the brightness just right (under the bonnet or at the end of the day, 50 to 80% brightness should be enough (remember, 50% on your SailProof is still more than 100% on your old iPad). Above all, it's more sensible to put the screen to sleep whenever possible by briefly pressing the power button.*
As for the rest, get rid of all unnecessary sources of power consumption (applications, Bluetooth, Wifi, etc.), and optimise the power consumption of apps that don't require constant access to data. To access the settings for optimising battery use, hold your finger on the app icon, then click on Information and then Battery.
We recommend that you install the AccuBattery application to obtain further advice, optimise charging and assess consumption in the configuration you are used to using.
*If you use an app that records a track, it will always work during standby. If it doesn't work, then the battery usage has been optimised by mistake. Follow the instructions above to cancel battery optimisation for that particular app (i.e. choose 'unrestricted' battery usage).
